Blood, Boogie and Bonding

Well, theres is alot to say sop settle down. For those that dont want to read it all this there is a summary paragraph at the end.

Well I got to the hostel/confrence centre where we were doing the course. Everyone seemed to know someone if only thru someone else. So I registered and waited. It that time a New Yorker plucked up the courage to start talking to me. He didnt really know anyone either. SO we chatted. Then parted as we went to find rooms. I shared with two French Canadian princesses and another canadian who was much nicer. Every day or night I would be disturbed by a hair dryer or loud talking. They never realised I spoke French so realised wat they were saying about me! The worst was having 1 key between 4 pople and they refused to leave it at reception. It made life difficult.

We were split into 6 groups of 20 for teaching. I was group 1 taght by a guy from Manchester. And a Jersualem driver, Cobie, one of the funniest people ive ever met. They werent allowed to tell us their ages or much about themselfs until after the course so made up a load of lies about Cobie having 2 kids, and telling anecdotes about them! While jamie would sit in the corner snogging and cuddling the annie pratice doll. Eventually we found out the truth but it took a while.

All the people in my group were being based in Jersualem or Tel Aviv with the exception of me and Michelle who are in Rehovot. We had a lot of fun in class with the majority going to med school at some point. We also had the hight proportion of Brits with 7 of us the rest being Canadian or Americain and one from Veneszula. The class was general stuff id done before and some more but we started at 8.30 every morning and usually finished about 2am after praticing and studying for the finial assesments and tests. The new yorker I met was in my group, Ari, whos girlfreind is alsoo in Israel and she joined us for shabbos so we could use her as a victime reading her book while having blood pressure checked or being trapped to the backboard, wat a romatic weekend.

We were taken on the Friday to Yad Vashem, across the road form where we were. Its the Isreli holocaust memorial and one of the top ones to visit, its just been revamped and was amazing, highly recomended espically as its free. Apart form that we didnt get out much except fpor pizza and ice coffe and around 11pm to keep us going.

However when we did go out we went to Ben Yeudah street. This is the main street in Jersualem for shopping and it ahs bars and felafal places along it. We sometimeds went for lunch but usually to unwind. In Israel the big nightout is Thursday as everyone has friday and Saturday off and the week starts on Sunday. We wnt out on thursday and boogied the night away, lotsof fun. I also got taken out for felafal, im still getting used to the fact that i can eat out most places and people on the course really enjoyed introducing me to places and seeing how much i loved it. The highlight has to be listing to the Pink Floyed guartirst on the radio live in Israel, full volume while driving into jerusalem, Awasome.

During the course we had a treat the night before our pratical test ot be taken to a concert of one of the biggest Isreli bands for free. However it turned out to be brainwashing by the Jewish Agency, who sponser our programe, about moving to Israel. Wat a waste of time. but we survived, eventhough a few thought about moving for about 120 minuets. It was funny how the americans were portrayed by Yankee doodle, they were so ashamed!

So on monday after we all passed we went out for dinner then drinking. I was so tired fprm being up all night i was home by 2. And so tuesday morning we all got our coaches ging to the various stations. AFter such a short time it was strange to be separate. I have never done anything with so  many jews my own age and espically as only 20 ppl max were from the uk the rest mainly canada and america it was cool. Every now and then i would have to translate from english to american but its entertining correcting the way they speak!

So tomorrow I wil;l fill u in on Rehovot and the adventures we have had already!

Uncle Moshe

So the coach droped us at the weissman institute, the universtiy in Rehovot that we had been told we were staying at. Security told us otherwise. They rung the number we had been given, to find out we had been droped at the wrong university and were staying in dorms in the agricultural faculity of Hebrew University up the road. As we looked pathetic they took pity and drove us up the road. At the agricultural collage they didnt know who we were either and rung the guy. He said he was out but could we go to his office and wait. Again they took pity and droves thru campus to the office. Eventually Zeev the dude we were looking for turned up and we got into the room, only for him to test the lock, with us inside, and realise it needed changing. We went on a tour of the campuss while they changed the lock before returning for a much needed shower. We were dropped at 12.30 and were officially in our rooms at 3.

So our room. For those of u able to see my room in halls it is like that but with no sink and two beds and a fridge. It has none of my stuff decorating it and looks kinda of empty. The other downside is no air conditionging. Its not unbearable but not ideal. We also discovered the only bar on campuss is in the next building.

So that first evening we had to find the station and meet a guy who would give us shifts. Well no-one on cam;uss knew where it was we asked everyone. Eventually a guy told us he knew where it was gave vauge directions then decided to show us so walked 10 minuets out of his way. I should mention Mischelle hasd the equivlent of A-level Hebrew its not perfect but she gets by, so without out her i doubt id have survived so easily. After we knew where the station was we went into town for dinner and an ice coffe, have i mentioned my addiction to ice coffee? We also watched part of the Brazil Ghana game. The Isreali's love football so its not in ur face but its there if u want it.

So we got to the station and met David, im not sure of his job but hes there twice a week and dosent work on the ambulance. He checked our language skills and gave us official trousers, which no other voulnteers have, nor should have. Then he rung the dude who sorts shifts and he told us to come the next morning. That was about it. We went to the bar and then an early bed as we had to b up for 6 Am.

So our first shift we got up and went to the station. We were early, especially by Isreli standars. On a shift there are drivers, medics and voulnteers on the normal ambulance then paramedics adn doctors and others on the ICU ambulance. On a shift we have 2 ambulances and 1 ICU in the station but others take ambulnces home and can choose to respond to a page. There are 3 shifts in a day 7-1500 1500-2300 and 2300-0700 at the begining of each shft the voulnteers or medic check the ambulance equiptment. So on our first shift soem of the school voulnteers started checking the ambulance so we asked to help, unfortunatly for me the form is in hebrew. But we did it. Then the drivewrs decided who would get stuck with us. We got Moshe.

Moshe claimed not to speak English, but eventually gave in and showed us how he like the ambulance checked, we listened. We didnt get any calls for a while so sat around. The station is lovely its attached to a medical centre and has an outside area a kitchen and lounge with TV and piano. 4 bedrooms wsith 2 beds and a TV so u can sleep any time and a shower and bathroom. Also teh school voulnteers have their own area downstairs. Its great cos u can nap on shift and get woken when needed. So we got our first call, me and Michelle were rareing to go. Moshe comes sauntering along in his own sweet time with his coffee. His checkes in with dispatch its a stroke. sirens and lights on thru the morning traffic, but we still have time to chat to David from the night before. When we get there onre of the drivers had come from home and had sorted most of it out alreadyy. All we had to do was load him up give oxgyen and take him to hospital. We have to document everything, so michelle and i watched, she understood some of the forms i didnt get any. So we took the blood pressureand pulse as we have to do with every patient. We took him to hospital and handed over the paper work and left. That was our first call. So we went back to the station.

After half an hour we were called again to a car crash. We have a lot of crashes but there nothing more than whiplash or minor injuries the ICU gets the good ones. but this time we took a medic not a voulnteer, Betal. She also has good english. We had 3 calls in a row nothing serious but it was fun all the same Moshe kept encouraging Michelles hebrew and slogged away with me. When we finished the shift we felt very lucky to have such nice people and espically Moshe, he is incharge of shifts at the station so we asked when to come next he said whenever so we decided to have 8 hours off and do the night shift.

The night shift was harder as the driver spoke no english but the mdic did. The calls were better as teh old people dont need ferrying in the same way. It was different we got to sleep for about 3 hours before going back and sleeping some more.

We had arranged not to go in again until sunday so went to Tel Aviv for the weekend where alot of our freinds were stationed. Michelle has been to Israel once beofre on a 10 day tour, ive never been. So bothe of us decided to head to the beach and call the others to meet us there. So we had an afternoon sunbathing before meeting Ari and Lindsey. Ari is staying in his Grandfathers hotel for the course which is on the beach in Tel Aviv, so he let us shower and leave our atuff. We were staying with Stu but he was working till 11 so were meeting later. A group of us from the course meet for dinner then explored a modern art event called White night. It was rubbish. We then meet with another 50 ppl form our course who spontanously were in Tel Aviv and by word of mouth we were all in the same bar literally on the beach. It was beautiful sitting around chating. Eventually some went clubbing but we went back to Stu's . He is based at Tel Aviv university and has one bed and floor sapce. It did the job and was free.

Friday morning some of us met for a late brekfast again on the beach before going to the friday market. Its a mixture of tourist tat, food and on a friday arty stuff like jewllery. We didnt buy much just mooched, before heding back to the beach for a bit. Then we decided to do friday night shabbos. SO some popele off the course who ahd hired a flat let us use their place. There were 9 of us ot was really nice. We scraped food out of 24 hour shops as the suppermarkets were already closed. It also helped that on the balcony was a hot tub. It was so nice and adult. Then we slept

On saturday we had set aside the whole day for the beach before we headed back after shabbos. I got very sunburnt. And mischelle the stupid girl fainted due to dehydration luckly were all trained though she was with Stu as they had left to get wather, ironic. But again we all used Ari's hotel room and showered, chilled and dosed in his bed, before dinner again. But i kept dissapering to watch England loose. And I had to keep explaining the basisc of 'soccer'. So finially me and michelle headed back to Rohovot.

We heard roumor that soem of the voulnteers form the beach who had gone out clubbing had gotton beaten up that night. When we went into work Sunday It was in all the papers, it made front page on Monday. Obviously Israel has no more presssing news. Anyway, it seems thay were beaten up by security. In Israel every public building has security, the ambulance is checked everytime we go to the hospital. Once you are used to it it makes u feel safe. However weather or not they started the fight I dont know, but everyone at the station has found it very enteratining!

Weve worked every morning this week and are doing the night tonight so we can have a 3 day weekend again. This week we have been to the bar evey night and are on 1st name terms with the staff. Its owned and run by 3 students. One of which lent us his spare air con unit, a saint. We have also gotton to know thepeople at the station better. There are 2 girls we got on really well with and love working with them. Our calls have been less exciting. Espically when i had to take a petient to jersualem which is the best of an hour away. But my driver bought me an ice coffee for my efforts. We have also worked with Moshe again. We love him, he has completlly taken us under his wing, making Michelle use only hebrew and helping me learn new words and keep using them. He is also my partner in crime helping me steal sheets for my bed from the hospital and sneaking off to buy us felaful. He is like put daddy at the staion. The station boss Ami is also a darlig and keeps trying to get us on the ICU, soon it will happen. All the drivers that speak english like us those that dont do to michelle and are genuinelly trying. All in all its fun and a good experience.

This weekend 5 of us are off to Tiberius in the North, to take in the scenery and have a break before working again Sunday morning. Generally we work when we want and fit suff inbetween.

walk Across my swimming pool # 2

Ok this is the second time ive typed this and its not as good but the computer hates me so sorry.

So the day I did the last entry was crazy mainly due to my efforts. Not only did i spill ground coffee down my new shirt whiule making a drink for Moshe but I walked into lift doors as they closed in tru slap stick style and entertained everyone with  my wrong hebrew words, generally silly things. Our night shift wasnt much better with no more than 20 minuets between calls so we didnt get any sleep. This was partly due to so boys in a car crash turning us away then deciding just as we got back to the station they wanted us so we drove 20mins back again. Then we got called to a night club in the middle of nowhere to pick up some drunks which took forever as they all kept climbing in our driver/bouncer took care of them. Then we got called back to the night club for other drunks that never appeared so we watched until the drubk bus took them away, but in that time Michelle had a few offers to pratice mouth to mouth!

Eventually we slept then headed to Tel Aviv where we met freinds before getting a bus to Tiberias, where Jesus walked across the Kineret (unfortunatlly the americans dont know Jesus Chrits Supper Star so didnt get myjokes). The bus journey took 4 hours not 2 and a half cos we hit the equivlent of Friday afternoon traffic. We managed to piss off alot of soliders that wanted to sleep wiv our chatting, though a few of them joined in. Eventually we got there we were staying with freinds on the first ever Kibbutz in Israel, it was really nice right by the waters of the Kineret. That night we wandered round the market in Tiberias with a beer in hand a great feeling, the drinking rules here are more relaxed. Before calling it a night as we had to be up early.

In the morning we headed to the edge of the Golant the Northern area of Israel and supposdly the most bautiful. After a mix up with the transport in tru Israeli style (to tell the whole story would take forever, ask me over a drink some time its a good story) we got to the park. Then we had issues over which walk to do but eventually we got going, it was a really nice walk along the canyon to pools and water falls, and luckly there was a fair amount of cloud cover so it wasnt too hot. The 4 hour walk took longer with having to stop and swim and sunbathe but it was plesant if a little Jewish as we were worried bout pople espically Michelle dehydrating! When we got back some slept some slept by the pool and some went shopping. Again we improvised on a shabbat meal eating at the kibbutz before a relaxed eveing on the kibuttz with some soliders we found and a bonfire they made us!

Some of us had decided to go back to the park again to do a different walk that other had not wanted to do. It is the more famous trail going throught the canyon and some water. It was a mixed group soem of us some from an absorption cantre in Kafar Sabba who had tagged along and 2 of the soliders. We got there and headed off, it was an amazing walk from the begining with sunning views into the cannoyon before you head down. At one point you have to deent a 20m ladder and swim your stuff across. Id offered to do this as swimmig is one of the few things i can do well. Howeve they idnt thinkto take the water bottles out and i almost drowned at least twice. However i didnt and we got the bags across, we already had the bear mimiunm wiv us but it still seemed alot. Then we had to go into another pool but in this one you could stand up sooner. We got the bags across using a chin with little/no help from the boys but it got done. We had to get moving again as there was a big group of loud abnoxious Russians behin us that we wanted to loose. After that my balance was off so i stumbled over the large boulders that i would normally enjoy clambering over. But the walk turned out well and I would highly recomend it to anyone, it was so beautiful. Im planning to spend a week exploring the North after I finish with MDA.

So we all showered and ate, with BBC prime in the background, 2.4 children, the americans didnt appriciate it. Then we decided to head back as we had a morning shift. During Shabbos the buses and trains dont run but Sherots do these are mini buses that take you inter city to where u want to go as long as you share with 9 other people. SO we got a Sherout back to Tel Aviv that took an hour and a half and cost the same as the bus. Then we headed back to Rehovot. We were eughsted but couldnt go to sleep at 5pm so stayed awake went and sat in the bar before giving in at 9.30.

SO we got up and did our shift. Very little exciting happened. But we did watch the Worl Cup finial. Michelle as a Canadian didnt really get it, but i tried. Then it was back to the routine of work, sleep, eat, drink, sleep, work....

Im off to Jersualem tomorrow to meet people and explore the old city but will be back for a late shift wednesday. Then Friday night we are going to someone at the stations. So im working mainly nights this week as they seem more exciting. If with less of the people i really get on with. But its all experience.

The World at war

The shift we did before heading to Jersualem was crazy we hardly stopped and only a few were old people, we had a guy who fell badly and his son was gettin married that night so his daughter wanted him checking, and things like that not exciting but not as boring as transporting.

After the shift we haeaded to the bus station, conviently located 2 minuets from the station, then we were off. On the bus our freinds we were staying with asked if we wanted to go to a wine festival/tasting (Michelle didnt even bother checking she knew id want to go). SO we got thee dumped our stuff ate, went to the market for sweets then got the bus to the Israel Museum, this is where the wine tasting was. It was really nice, it wasnt a club, it wasnt a bar but it was relaxing and somthing different. Me and Michelle both felt very relaxed after. I chated to random people while the canadians insisted on mimicking my accent (it gets boaring VERY quickly). After that we haeded back to the flat with Sabrina and Marnina and attempted to watch the OC (against my will) but we all fell asleep within 20 mins.

Sabrinia and Marnina had a shift wednesday afternoon so me and Michelle had aimed to be in town by 10. At half 10 we got up, but it was my first lie in since i started wiv MDA, so much deserved. We headed into the old city to go to a specific jewllers that engrave, so we did that first. Then we went to the Cardo, the old roman market street that has been activated, that is full of expensive tourist shops! We mooched then headed to the Western Wall. It was really nice as there wernt many there, so you could acctully get to the wall to pray. It was nice me and Michelle took our time and it felt really good. After we headed to the central bus station as i was meeting a brum student for a while. It was good to see Debbie, and chat for a while. SHe may visit me here as we realised Philip Cutland is in Rehovot and he is a family freind and I know him too.

After I left her I went to the hospital to visit Lola who broke her leg on holiday. I had stayed with them for the first few days i was in Jersualem. Lola is fine after 2 weeks, having broken her leg in the worst way, vertically, she is out in her chair, working hard at phisyo and already knows all the nurses and visitors. While I was there at least 5 other pople not including her daughter and husband droped by. Hopefully she will b home in 2 weeks, i know Norman misses her and can only visit in the afternoons.

After tha me and Michelle stocked up on Rogolough from the market, marzipan had sold out, i was SO dissapointed. Then we headed back to do the night shift. After 2 hours at the station they sent us home. It is rthe first time they have been fully staffed on a night shif so couldnt fit us in, espically as there wouldnt hve been enough beds. We wernt heart broken as we were tired. So we went to the bar for a beer before heading to bed. This morning I went in for the morning shif a bit late but i was there. Michelle had a lie in as she is off to Tel Aviv for the night for someones birthday. I decided not to go as money is tight and i dont feel like partying. So I am going in for the night shift in a few hours. Im really enjoying it though.

On a serious note. Israel is officially at war with Lebanon for the first time in around 40 years. That does not meant the country has stopped and I am not in danger. In fact I feel very safe and Id rather be here than else where. I belive there needs to be an Israel as do most of the residents and I fell like im doind my bit. I had a chat with Anat who is my age and doing community service instead of the army. As she said the Israeli's live like this and never get the chance for a normal life. This will hot up here everyone knows it, but life has to continue as much as possible, not matter how the news portrays it. I honestly feel safe here and am happy to stay, for now.

So I hope you are all enjoying the english weather, I hear its toasty, so make the most of it. Good Shabbos

Road trip to Eilat

SO i went to my night shift with my usuall approach of having fun, espically as Mose was my driver. We had so much fun espically with an overbearing Jewish grandmother who knew better than us regarding her 8 year old grandson. It wasnt eventfull but not quiet either. Our last call of the night was at about 2Am to someone who had been hit by a truck. When we got there it was a granny in a drive ur own cart who at 2 AM had driven into a digger about the size of a big JCB. Me and Moshe are still miffed wat she was doing at 2AM and how she didnt see the digger!

SO i slept from 3 till 7.30 then i was gettin round to heading home until they offered me a place on the ICU for the shift. I have been trying to get on it since I started and the paremedic visiting from the army was willing to take me. SO we get a call i jump in, adrenlin pumping only for it to be cancelled hlf way there. When we get back i was shown round the ambulance and where the various drugs are, and so it is only a matter of time before we get a call. Or so I thought. I worked an extra 8 hours only to recieve no calls. The only perk was that I had breakfast made for me, eggs and a massive salad and of course houmous. So eventually I went home to sleep.

That night we went to our Medic's for Shabbos. We went to Shul, i didnt think to bring an English Siddur so i was a little lost. Anats' familly are lovely, very jewish and her mum is an amazing cook. It was really nice,  mer mum thought I was sweet and funny but her brother called me VERY british, oh well. After we walked home it took a while with Michelle needing the toilet the whole way which was very funny.

We decided to work the next morning, mainly for somthing to do. It was a slow shift but it was with Moshe. The CAT scanner at the hospital was broken so we spent most of the day moving patients. However at one point we had 2 patients 2 members of the family, a doctor and nurse, Moshe and our medic to fit in, so me and Michelle were told to wait at the hospital. so we did, but we were starving so we raided the doctors kitchen then explored a bit while trying to steal stuff. Then we got chatting to the Russian doctors, and played with the dog. Only in Israel when a sdtray dog walks in is it allowed to sleep in the cupboard of the doctors office. While we were there I was allowed to read patients files and see their x-rays which was very cool. 2 hours and a car crash later Moshe decides to pick us up, and refused to take the dog to the station. I spent half an hour flicking elastics at him as they processed his 3 crash victims and we speculated how the mother was so thin but her 2 adult kids were gimagantic.

So we went home and slept. Then we went to the next town over Rishon letzion were our freind is based and met her and someone staying with her for dinner. It was really nice. Abby the ohter girl was based in Tiberious but had been asked to leave until she could be moved due to the missiles. At the time she idnt know wat was happining. But we had a plesant dinner and ice coffee before heading home.

We did the morning Sunday our driver Eli decided to fill up with petrol before taking us and Anat on a road trip to Eliat, however decided his 2 kids and wife wouldnt b very happy. Eli dosent speak english but we are now gettin on well, he was very impressed that me and Michelle could take care of the patient and do the forms, even with a few typo's, while he drove. Again not a busy shift.

Then we went shopping in the mall conviently placed next to the station, however neither me or Michelle had much money im not sure if that was sensible or not. So we came back ate and went to the bar as always. Where i was taught Backgammon, which I hate to admit but im growing to quite like. Then bed

Guess wat this morning we worked. This time with a driver who loves Michelle and is always trying to get her married off decipite the fact she has a boyfriend in Canada. Today was busyish, we still found time to sleep. We had alot of abdonimal trouble and a carcrash. But most intrestingly a woman who slipped on a bus fell and then fainted. And continued to keep faintaing. We backboarded her then took het to hospital just as we got to the ER she projectile vomited ERERYWHERE it was amazing. I also made Eli's day by making him a card sign with Eilat on like the minibus taxis have here so you know where there going. Apparently we will see wat he plans to do with it tomorrow. Later we may go out as someone on our floor invited us to a birthday party. We will see.

Im off to Jersualem Thursday, but am a little unnerved after they caught the suicide bommer earlier in the old city. But life goes on. I may not stay for Shabbos though but we have offers here in Rehovot. Then Im supposed to be in Natinia for the week but that may not go ahead, everything is up in the air. We will see. All is well here for now, but the atmosphere deffinatly changed around Saturday, things are more serious now. In the station the news is always on and during calls it is on in the ambulance. I find myself checking the headlines on sky every couple of hours. We are deffinatly at wat but they havnt reached us in Rehovot yet.

Well as usuall there is alot to catch up with so here goes.

From where I left off we worked tuesday and wednesday morning and wednesday night. I think it was wednesday morning when Michelle went with Eli and I was with Moshe the shift was normal except for my last call to an old lady that was aspiring, I got to see my first intubation and help get the monitor hooked up and prepare the IV for the paramedics, it was very cool. The night shift was fullo again but instead of sending us home we opend a second ambulance that was much needed. Before we got round to that we had some calls. Two were miscarriages, not a happy call however teh drivers know how to make the most of a bad situation. One driver inparticullar managed to fumble his english making us think the call was somthing else, we were suprised when we walked in. Michelles innocence caused her not to realise with the other call the severity of the situation. It wasnt an eventfull shift but it was intresting, the night shift often is.

After a couple hours sleep we headed off to meet the bus to Jersualem for our graduation ceremony. The bus was only 1 1/2 hours late and picked us up at the wrong place that was actully the right place but there was allot of confusion. After a 2 hour delay in macdonalds we made it. We had a talk trying to get us on toher programs or make Aliyah (move to Israel), before having an hour to change for the ceremony. I was in a bad mood because I had been told that I would have to come back next year to do my mass casualty training that I had been promised in the first week, it seemed like it might help with uni stuff, so i was moaning. The ceremony was not for us but the family of the founder who was killed treating a patient. 2 hours later wew were taken to a Jewish Agency concert full of little brats here with various youth groups. One of which was Michelle's brothers so she met him and i went to chat to a friend who was working on the ambulance. It was a massive brain washing event again, and they were also convincing the kids they didnt want to go home, i didnt really enjoy it. While there I made myself useful and got offered a night shift on the ICU, which in Jersualem is a real honour however I had to decline due to lack of sleep and an early start, it was a hard decision. After the concert we went out in Jersualem before I almost feel asleep at the table I left.

The next day after an early start where we were up but many others werent, we got taken on a choice of tours. I chose to walk the walls of the old city and tour the archelogical park which includs the outer areas of the 2nd temple. It was kinda intresting but we were all tired and hot and didnt appriciate if fully. But me and Michelle picked up our hadmade jewllery which we were sooooo happy with. After the tour i met freinds who were stating in the old city for shabbos. There is a free hostel where u can stay within the old city and we were going there. We were having meals with random families organised by a guy called Geoff Zidell, a hero. So we dumped bags at the boys hostel shopped a bit then went to the girls hostel and slept. Then we got ready.

We went to the Cotel to pray it was amazing on a friday night, maddly busy but an eletric atmosphere. The only downside is on the womens side you have to daven alone as you cant hear the men, i dont like that as much cos my hebrew is so shoddy. After we emt with Geoff to organise where we were going for dinner. The boys went to one house and the 6 girls went elsewhere. What an experience. Its a hard one to type. But the guy was an anti evolutionist vegetarian, who dismised it as nonsence. The couple were from America and only left the old city to go bak, and after 9 years still didnt speak much hebrew. It was the most orquard dinner and a story I cant wait to tell my grandkids! Eventully we were litrelly thrown out. SO we headed to the boys hostel for the end of the shiur which never happened so we had a quick one on the Gemorra before heading home and not getting locked out.

We had a lie in, my second only since i started on the 19th of June. Then we went to the Cotel again to daven it was much quieter as it was hot and we got there early by english standards, 10.30 adn again had to do it alone as u coulndnt hear the men. Then we met Geoff again to get a luch place. This guy sorts any one without a place to go a home to go to he has anything from 10-50 people to place. So lunch was more sucessful we were with a young camadian-american couple who insisted on whisky shots as soon as you entered the house. It was simple and nice the youngest daughter decided to strip as soon as we were in the flat, which was very hippy. It was an intresting lunch with much alchol flowing and really good food. After lunch we met the others back at the hostel and we all passed out and slept. Then Michelle and I left to head back as Michelle had a night shift. SO we got back sent to the bar for a coffee and headed off to work. Michelle was on the ICU i was on the regular. Michelles ambulance spoke no english but her paramedics son droped by he had just renturned from Brazil and was going back as he had been offered a modelling contract. He had a 5year olds skooter with him, I managed to pick up some speed on it! It was another slow night. The Police man i like and his partner dropped by for coffee and let me play with the Police carr, which apparently isint allowed but he thought id come so far that it wouldnt matter. It was much fun, but I never found the ejector seat.It was an average shift neith of us had anything exciting, I did have a crazy man asleep in the middle of the road which was fun espically as my Police man tried to put on my gloves and complained that they were small. I just watched the men do their thing.

After the sift we got dropped back and went to sleep. An hour later I was woken by a phone call telling me to be in Kefar Sava in an hour and a hlf for my mass casualty course. So I packed and left.

I will finish tomorrow im board now
